ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK - ESTES PARK, COLORADO
If you've ever been to Rocky Mountain National Park, it is clear that the elk thrive in the region. Being Rocky Mountain National Park's largest and most abundant animal, these beasts are fairly easy to spot throughout the park and are a well-known attraction for tourists. I was able to capture this bugling bull in the fall of 2021, the elk's mating season. The call thundered through the thin Rocky Mountain air and echoed for what seemed like miles. I can't help but wonder if this lonesome bull found a lover before the night's end. If nothing else, at least he impressed me!
